September - October 2007

The End of September - The Middle of October

WOW - it seems like forever since I last posted something. My "new" computer crashed not long after the last post. Boy was that a pain in the bottom. Luckily I still had my old computer and was able to check some emails but that was about it! I learned a hard lesson with my new computer crashing - ALWAYS back up your stuff. I lost ALOT of precious pictures that I will not be able to get back. I now save NOTHING on my hard drive!

Let's see - what all have we been doing since I last posted?

Rusty participated in the Fayette County games. He did some kid of shooting event at the 4-H range and he came in 3rd place. Fayette County actually got 1st, 2nd and 3rd in that event.

Once he finished shooting we surprised the kids and took them to the fair. They were both very excited. I think that Carrigan had a little bit more fun than Alan did though. He was not big enough to ride the rides and the one of the rides he could go on scared him to death so they had to stop the ride so he could get off. He had the look of fear in his eyes. After that Rusty walked Alan around to all of the booths and I watched Carrigan while she rode on the rides. It ended up being a fun day! Here are some of the pictures that I took:

Brother and sister love!

Carrigan couldn't wait to ride this ride with her daddy!

Alan wasn't so sure about this ride. This was the ride that he didn't like
and they had to stop it so that we could get him off.

Carrigan loved this ride! She rode it all by herself!

Alan playing with a bat that Rusty won for him at one of the booths.

CHEESE!

A couple of weeks ago when Carrigan was on Fall Break I took the kids to Mt. Carmel Park. Here are a couple of the pictures that I took.

This is Abby and Carrigan. Abby's mommy is my friend Amanda.

The month of October has so far gone pretty fast. Rusty was off on October 13th so he worked a concert series called The Echo Project. You can probably Google it and see what kind of bands were there. He got there on Thursday at 12 noon and did not come home again until Sunday night after 9:30pm. He did come home once to get the camper. He ended up taking it down there to sleep in since it was an hour away from home and he worked until midnight and had to be back there at 8:00am the next morning. Rusty had a great time and got to see some really interesting people. There were alot of Greatful Dead people there or at least that's what alot of them looked like - LOL!!! While he was working I was busy running back and forth to Alabama. I took the kids over to my moms house on Friday afternoon - came back home that night - got my hair done on Saturday morning - then headed back to Alabama to pick the kids up - took the kids to see Rusty and then we were home the rest of the weekend. Thanks Mom for watching them for me and for meeting me in Alexander City.

Alan had his 3 year doctors appointment on the 16th. I thought that it was going to be a real easy appointment but it was not what I thought it would be. Here are Alan's stats for age 3 ~ His weight is 38lbs (93%), his length is 39.75 inches (95%), his vision was right eye 20/30 & left eye 20/30 and he failed his hearing test several times. The nurses and the doctor tried on several occasions to re-check the test and he kept failing (even the test where they take him in the room and have him respond to sounds). We know that Alan hears because he responds to us but for some reason he didn't respond to the tests. We are taking him to the ENT doctor on Nov. 5th to get him checked out. His doctor is hoping that there is just fluid behind his ears (he has had several ear infections the last couple of years). She is also hoping that once this gets corrected that he will have better speech. I will let everyone know what the ENT doctor says after we visit him.

That's about all that's been going on here. November will be another busy month for us with birthday's, anniversaries, not to mention Thanksgiving and shopping!

We hope that everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!

Kim
